Dana Delamar - Romantic Suspense - International Intrigue. Dark Heroes. Passionate Nights.

My current labor of love is a Mafia romance series called Blood and Honor, which is set among the Calabrian Mafia, today the most powerful and wealthy crime syndicate in Italy, if not the world.
Each book features a hero and heroine forced to make difficult choices in a world where vendettas are quick to erupt and burn for generations; where family ties, both blood and criminal, drive every decision; and where passions flare up and threaten to blaze out of control.

Prequel  -- Malavita

Malavita (Blood and Honor, Prequel) by Dana Delamar
A son determined to avenge his family.
A daughter desperate for peace.
Two fathers intent on destruction…

Enrico Lucchesi never wanted anything to do with the Mafia. But when his brothers were murdered, he accepted that he would someday be the next don. However, he doesn't accept that he must marry the daughter of the man who killed them. Enrico will never trust an Andretti, never mind love one. The Andrettis are up to something with their so-called “truce”—and Enrico must avenge his siblings. But will his dark secret spell the end of his vengeance—and possibly the Lucchesis?

After Antonella Andretti’s father tries to destroy the Lucchesis, she persuades him that an alliance—achieved by her marriage to Enrico, the “golden boy” she’s loved from afar—would be in everyone’s best interests. As her wedding day approaches, people close to her father start dying, and her fiancé's behavior is suspect. When she learns Enrico’s true feelings about her—and what her father’s actual plans are—will Antonella damn their families to eternal war, or will she broker a peace that might destroy her heart?

"I just love Dana's writing, the plot is very well thought out, fast paced and full of action, and as I've said before with her work, every word is relevant. The story has everything, romance, revenge, 'blood', 'honor', suspense, action, you name it this book covers it. Dana Delamar is definitely an author to watch." -- Lindsay and Jane's Views and Reviews blog, 4.5 stars

"...once i got started with Malavita, I could not, would not put it down. The storyline is captivating from the beginning.... Not only do you have a fantastic love story, but the mob is involved...I felt dirty (in a good way) just reading it. Written expertly. Exciting, fun, action, suspense, love, honor, loyalty....just fantastic!!" -- Liz Cabrejos, Amazon reader, 5 stars

"...The love scenes are as intense as the action scenes as they leave the reader on the edge of their seat and wanting more... Dana grabs her reader's attention and doesn't let go until the very last page; and even then, she leaves you wanting to read Revenge (if you haven't already -- shame shame shame on you... go READ it) and the follow up, Retribution. Once again, Dana has captured my heart and attention with her larger than life Mafioso characters and brings them to a whole new level and depth in her much anticipated prequel." -- Steph's Book Retreat blog, 5 stars

"This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I have to say I couldn't put it down till I finished it. What a ride I got! Love, action, excitement, crime families, heck, what more could you ask??" -- Cedarblue, Amazon reader, 5 stars

"Captivating plot, compelling characters and such a gripping love story between Enrico and Toni, made this a keeper series for me! Immediately started Revenge, as I could not wait to see what happens next!!!!" -- Sue S., Amazon reader, 5 stars

Antonella reached the terrace before Enrico did and plopped herself onto a bench in the shade below a large tree. She grinned up at him in triumph. "Told you I'd beat you," she said when he arrived.

He leaned over her and gripped the lacy metalwork that supported her back, caging her in while he caught his breath. "You were distracting me."

"I couldn't take my eyes off you," he murmured. Leaning closer, he made his request. "Let down your hair," he whispered in her ear, letting his breath wash over her skin, making her shiver.

She hesitated, then reached up to the base of her neck and loosened the tie holding everything in place, lightly shaking her head to let the thick waves fall free. When it tumbled around her shoulders, he smiled. This close, he could see every lash that fringed her large liquid eyes, eyes that looked away from his with sudden shyness. He gently took hold of her chin and made her look at him.

He studied her face, every inch of it--the flawless olive skin, the high cheekbones, the lush tremble of her lips, the long slope of her nose, the slight bump in it--and he realized something. Antonella Andretti was beautiful. Not in some fairytale princess way. But in a real way. Although her cheeks grew pink under his scrutiny, she didn't break eye contact this time.

The molecules of air between them seemed to thicken, time slowed down, his heart ceased to beat. All he wanted in that moment was to kiss her. He started to close the distance, mere centimeters between them--

She slid out from under his left arm and dashed out of reach. "Catch me if you can, Enrico Lucchesi!"

This time she took off across the grass, heading uphill toward the house and a loggia with three vine-covered arches.

Had she known what he'd been about to do? Did she not want to kiss him? Or was she just making him work for it?

The Romance Reviews Top Pick"This story truly exceeded my expectations. Revenge is action packed, and when the pace picks up, it does not slow down.... Pick up this book today; it will grab your attention from the beginning. I cannot wait to read the next book."
-- The Romance Reviews (TRR) site, 5 stars, Top Pick

"Here is to a WHOOPING 5 Stars. If I had to describe this book in about 4 words it would be action-packed, sexy, romantic, and adrenaline rushing.... This would make a kick butt movie! There were times when I was fanning myself, sitting on the edge of my seat, and so mad I had to put it down. The steamy scenes were oh so delicious!"
-- Bengal Reads blog, 5 stars

"The first book in the Blood and Honor series... gets things off to an explosive start. The Italian setting is rendered in luxurious detail, and its beauty is often offset by brutality." --RT Book Reviews, 4 stars

"Enrico was incredibly sexy and Kate is feisty which makes for a very explosive relationship! I loved how the author incorporated the beauty of Italy and the romantic undertones of the land. The sexual intimacy for me was off the charts! ... Highly recommend this read!!" --Romance Novel Junkies blog, 4.5 stars

"I was drawn into the story from the absolute beginning, unable to put the book down. The dialogue was simple perfection." -- Reading by the Beach blog, 4 stars

"Revenge is fast-paced with realistic and vibrant Italian settings. It's a bit sprawling and sometimes veers over the top, but it sweeps the reader up in a gritty, emotional, and surprisingly sensual read. Enrico is a fascinating and ultimately sympathetic hero, and it's completely believable that Kate would fall in love with him. Delamar does a great job of taking an outlandish plot device and making it work." -- Love Rocks column, Barnes & Noble.com

Enrico’s hand dropped from Kate’s forehead to caress her cheek, his fingers skimming over the bruises Vince had left. Then his thumb traced over her swollen lip, his face darkening. “I could kill him for this.”

Kate felt a jolt. Did he mean that? He looked so grave. She didn’t want him to do something foolish; he’d already taken enough risks for her. “I’m okay. Just a little beat up. I’ll be fine in a few days.”

He crouched down beside her and took her hands in his, resting them in her lap. “I will protect you from now on. I swear it. You will never be unsafe again.”

Kate’s throat constricted painfully and tears threatened to spill down her cheeks again. Jesus, how did he know just what to say? This man who looked at her with such tender eyes couldn’t possibly be a mobster. Certainly her faulty Italian was to blame for what she thought she’d overheard.

Enrico leaned forward, one of his hands going to the back of her chair, the other releasing her hand and cupping her knee. He was now just inches from her, his eyes darkening with care, with… desire. Kate inhaled in surprise, her body suddenly on alert. He smelled sharply masculine, like citrus and pine trees mixed together, a hint of something that was all him underneath. He was too close, much too deliciously close. Her heart hammered out of control. She should stop this. She was still married, even if her husband had tried to kill her.

Enrico let go of her knee and placed his fingers under her chin, tilting her mouth to meet his. Kate stiffened, but after his lips touched hers, she relaxed and forced herself to stop thinking, forced herself only to feel, only to hear. The satiny brush of his lips across hers, the touch of his hands on her face, his fingers tracing her cheekbones. The groan low in his throat when she opened her mouth to his, when she let their tongues touch. He groaned again, the sound more urgent when she opened her mouth wider, her tongue swirling around his.

He pulled her up from the chair, his large hands sliding down to her ass, crushing her to him greedily. When she felt the bulge of his erection against her belly, a warm tingle ran through her, zinging down between her legs.

My God, he was an amazing kisser. And if she wasn’t mistaken, his body was going to be amazing too. He was all hard slabs of muscle and sinew, granite next to her softness. She ran her hands across his wide shoulders and down his back. Jesus. This was going to be out of this world—

He broke the kiss, both of them breathing fast. She looked up at him, confused. Why was he stopping?

“Are you certain you want this?” he asked. “A lot has happened—”

“I’m sure. Very sure.”

His lips curved into a slow smile. “Then we need some place more private, yes?”

Praise for Retribution

"The suspense keeps the pages moving quickly in book two of the Blood and Honor series. There are numerous characters, but Delamar does a wonderful job of incorporating them so that readers keep abreast of the story. A fast pace, credible characters and a complex plot guarantee hours of entertainment."

Nick turned the music up and caught Delfina’s eye. Was it just his imagination, or had she been admiring his bare arse? “Watching me, were you?” he asked, keeping his voice pitched low.

She blushed, roses staining her cheeks. His chest felt lighter than it had in weeks. “I’m not answering that.”

He strode over to her and leaned in, forcing her to sprawl back on the bed, caged within his arms. He placed his lips near her ear. “Your blush told me everything. Every single naughty thought you were having.”

Madonna,” she muttered and braced her hands against his chest. “You’re getting a swollen head.”

He darted his tongue out and ran it along the edge of her ear. “Most certainly.” He put a knee up on the bed and rubbed his hard aching length along her thigh.

She laughed and pushed against him, but he didn’t budge. “Time to get undressed,” he whispered. Her hands went to the buttons that ran down the front of the silk blouse tucked into her skirt. She played with the top one.

“Now?” she asked, her voice lilting and playful.

“Now.” He rumbled the word in her ear and she shivered. “Take it off. I want to see you. All of you.”

Redemption knocks it out of the PARK!!! This is the novel I was waiting for!!! I bugged, harassed (in the most loving way), prodded, messaged, emailed and generally made a pest of myself for MONTHS until Dana got this novel done; and get it done she did. WOW I was blown out of the water on this one.” – Steph’s Book Retreat blog, 5 stars

"This series is awesome!!! If this series was ever made into a movie it would put the Godfather to shame! I am always pulled into the lives that Dana creates in her books. Heart beating so fast it is like I am part of the story line!!! If you are looking for fantastic writing style and being pulled into a story this is it!! I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. I WANT TO GIVE IT MORE THAN 5 STARS." -- Julie's Book Reviews blog, 5 stars

“When I compare the quality of the writing, the complexity of the plot and the development of the characters in this series to other books I have awarded 4 or even 4.5 stars to, this one is clearly worthy of a much higher rating than many of them. Not only do I look forward to reading more in the series I am also really excited and can hardly wait.”
Lindsay and Jane's Views and Reviews blog, 5 stars

Her heart pounding, Bianca Lucchesi smiled at the man she’d come to see while doing her best to ignore the one she’d never wanted to see again. Antonio Legato. She’d arranged to meet her uncle at the bank instead of at his home because she’d hoped to avoid Antonio. And here he was anyway.

Dio mio, would her heart never slow down? One glimpse of him had been enough to bring everything back. Everything she’d tried so damn hard to suppress. To forget.

She took a breath and widened her smile. “Zio Enrico,” she said as he came around the desk and embraced her, kissing her on both cheeks. Marriage had agreed with her godfather. He was still lean, still handsome as sin, with that black hair and those chocolate eyes. He looked happy again—not stricken, the way he’d looked at the funerals for her father and her brother Fedele.

Prego,” he said, motioning to the chair beside Antonio. “I don’t believe you’ve met my capo di società, Antonio Legato.”

Would Antonio say something about their past? She stuck out her hand and tried to look mildly interested. Anything but infuriated. Or hurt. “Signore,” she said.

Antonio rose and took her hand in his large one. Cristo, he’d grown. He was a man now—at least six feet, with the broad shoulders and slim hips of a man in his prime.

His blue eyes met hers, a shock of unruly blond hair falling just over them. Though he looked a little pale, a wave of heat rolled through her. How many nights had she dreamed of him unbidden? How many times had she relived those moments they’d spent together?

He flashed her a casual smile, as if he were utterly unaffected by her, and pressed a kiss to her knuckles, the light brush of his lips reminding her of other places he’d kissed.

“Signorina Lucchesi. It’s a pleasure. I haven’t seen you since secondary school.”

“I wasn’t aware you knew each other,” Enrico said.

“We had a class together,” Antonio said. “Chemistry, I believe.”

Bianca wanted to kick him in the shin. Was he trying to flirt with her? Chemistry! Yes, they’d had it. But outside of class.

“You’re mistaken, signore. It was biology, not chemistry.”

“My error.” He was still grinning at her—the arrogant bastard. Did he think she still wanted him? Well if he did, he was all wrong.

Antonio let go of her hand, and they retook their seats. Bianca’s skin tingled where he had touched her, and she resisted the urge to press her hand to her mouth, to feel that tingling against her lips. Damn him. Antonio Legato was a hundred different kinds of infuriating.

And he knew it.

Reckoning (Blood and Honor, #4) by Dana Delamar

A brutal hitman.
A fervent anti-Mafia judge.
A far-ranging conspiracy…

Everyone thinks Ruggero Vela is just an assassin, a cold-hearted thug. But a passionate heart beats underneath his granite exterior. When he finally meets the woman of his dreams, she turns out to be Loredana Montisi, a fervent anti-Mafia judge hell-bent on prosecuting his Mafia don boss. The beautiful judge has no idea she's being used as a pawn by much darker forces with a truly frightening agenda.

With enemies closing in on every side, Ruggero walks a dangerous tightrope—can he win Loredana's heart and her help, or will he lose her and the only family he knows?

He moved closer again, and this time Loredana jumped away, but her back hit the wall. Trapped. Blood pounded in her ears, and his smile widened. He placed one hand on the wall beside her head and leaned in, just centimeters from her. He smelled of espresso, cigarettes, and a light cologne. Something lemony. “I wasn’t going to hurt you. I’ve never hurt a woman, and I’m not about to start.”

“Then what are you doing?”

“Reassuring you.”

“I thought you didn’t do that.”

He chuckled, low and deep, and his other hand met the wall on the other side of her head. He had her caged in quite effectively, but his gaze was what held her captive. She struggled not to squirm, to meet his eyes, to keep him from knowing how desperately she wanted to run.

He leaned in, his voice dropping, his words a whisper. “I want you to remember how you’re feeling now: heart beating fast, every cell excruciatingly alert, ready to jump out of your skin. Remember this, and don’t forget. You are in danger, Loredana Montisi, and remembering that is what’s going to keep you alive.”
